Thankful in ALL things

My pastor gave an illustration this Sunday and I just had to share!

First, envision a beautiful golden-brown cornbread just baked in a cast iron skillet.

I think he's got it. 😂

Now, think about what went into making that cornbread—the cornmeal, regular flour, milk, eggs, etc. Some of these ingredients on their own don’t taste great. Nobody wants a mouthful of flour, right? However, when you mix them all together and bake them at the right temperature for the right length of time—voila!

You get something delicious.

This is kind of like life. We have good times and then we have hard times.

But then God works in our lives and something amazing happens! At just the right time everything works out for good. The result of leaving out our difficult times would be the same as leaving out the flour or raw eggs. We would get a wonky cornbread!

God can use the best and the worst to make something beautiful out of our lives.

We just have to trust His timing and remember who the master chef is.
